Dr. Adam Bennett

Dr. Bennett practices general and pediatric dermatology and sees patients of all ages.

His focus is diagnosis of skin (contact) allergies, in support of which he offers extensive skin patch testing; in addition, he contributes at the national level through service on the American Contact Dermatitis Society (ACDS) / American Medical Association (AMA) Health Policy Committee and is a Fellow of the ACDS, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He specializes in the care of veterans and children and provides skin cancer treatment, diagnosis and management of rashes, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and acne.

His interests also include telehealth, patient safety, quality improvement, and process optimization in health care, as well as medical education; regarding the latter, Dr. Bennett trains medical students both in the classroom and in the clinic and is actively developing improved technologies in medical education. Dr. Bennett holds a research doctorate in structural biology and virology completed jointly at the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK, and the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, MD, involving a major collaborative project with the Laboratory of Immunoregulation, NIAID.

He graduated cum laude from the University of Florida College of Medicine, Gainesville, FL, completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Orlando Health, and completed residency training at the USF Morsani College of Medicine, Tampa, where he served as Chief Resident and was twice recognized as Resident Teacher of the Year. Dr. Bennett has extensive private practice, academic, inpatient, and outpatient dermatology experience and has conducted clinical as well as translational dermatology research. He is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Outside the office, Dr. Bennett has been a long-term youth soccer coach and also enjoys long-distance running and hiking. He is proficient in basic medical Spanish.
